Projection Capable Classroom Standard
The Projection Capable Classroom (PCC) standard includes basic technology infrastructure for teaching and learning:
- Fixed data/video projection capability
- Internet connectivity at instructor station
- Wireless student networking
- Smart control system (with networking option)
- User friendly laptop interface
- Standardized operating protocol familiar to faculty on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities (UMTC) campus
- May have other add-on capabilities:
- Document cameras
- Special input/output connectors for user-provided equipment
- VHS or DVD player
- Installed computers
- Slide projectors
- Hotline phone
- Accessibility features
- Flexible growth potential (able to interface new devices)
The PCC standard is the baseline for UMTC general purpose classroom technology, and is included in the Classroom Appendix to the U of M Standards and Procedures for Construction (Appendix DD).
