Summer session scheduling guidelines

  1. Class periods will be 50 minutes in length with a 15-minute break or passing period. For purposes of scheduling, a 50-minute class would be considered equal to 1 hour. Actual class time for an 8:00 a.m. class using 1 period would be 8:00-8:50 a.m.

  2. Classes will be staggered with Minneapolis and St. Paul on different schedules.

  3. Each semester hour of credit will normally require 15 hours of class time. Under semesters, summer session course will be offered in a variety of time blocks/sessions. Below are some scheduling examples.
