Apple TV Instructions

(For printable instructions, click here)

Apple TV enables users to display presentations from an iPad or Apple computer using a wireless network. In order to display from an AppleTV device in a General Purpose Classroom, you will need to supply your own AppleTV unit and connect it directly to the projection system.

apple tvUsing the room system’s laptop connection (HDMI or VGA) and the Ethernet cables, follow these steps:

  1. Connect the laptop cable to your AppleTV.
  2. If you are in a classroom that only has a VGA connection, you will need to supply an HDMI to VGA adapter. Rooms with an HDMI connection do not require an adapter. The following adapter has performed well with OCM’s projection systems: Kanex ATV Pro.
  3. If using the VGA cable, connect the audio cable to your VGA adapter. HDMI does not require the audio cable.
  4. Connect the Ethernet cable to the AppleTV.
  5. Plug in the power cable to the AC outlet on the instructor podium.
  6. Press the Laptop source button on the control touch panel to turn on the projection system.
  7. Follow the instructions below to use your compatible devices (iPads, laptops, etc) with the AppleTV over the wireless network.
