All central classrooms that have been upgraded to the U of M Projection Capable Classroom Standard have permanently installed telephones. These phones are set for campus-only dialing and provide easy access to our room support personnel in the case of a problem. The ringer is disabled so that your class is not interrupted. When you report an issue, our support staff doesn’t have a way to call you back, however we will dispatch someone to your room to investigate. If calling after hours, it is important that you provide a detailed description of your issue so that the appropriate corrective action can be expedited.
The Classroom Support Hotline number is (612) 625-1086.
The telephones in classrooms work just like a standard university phone (except for the disabled ringer) and are able to dial 911 Emergency. Other campus phones are distributed in the public areas of most buildings. Your personal cellular phone will also be able to connect from most campus building locations.
A list of classrooms with the hotline telephone can be found by using the classroom search page.
Teleconferencing in Classrooms
The installed classroom hotline phones are unable to provide speakerphone or teleconferencing features.
